Rehabilitation services can make an incredible difference in a senior’s health and well-being. The goal of Bayview’s rehab programs, provided by our own Peoplefirst rehabilitation therapists and nurses, is to accelerate healing and improve quality of life to the fullest extent.
We accomplish this goal by providing individualized programs developed by physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists in conjunction with the interdisciplinary Bayview team.
Occupational Therapy (OT)
OT focuses on activities and training that promote independence with managing day-to-day living tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating skills. Therapists can also work with patients and patients’ families to help them return to their hobbies and special interests.
Physical Therapy (PT)
PT includes strengthening and retraining that will allow patients to become more independent with transfer techniques, walking, using prosthetics, and mobility within multiple environments. PT can provide the assistance needed to limit our patient’s risk of falls and increase safety when they return to home and family.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy evaluates a patient’s understanding and use of language, speech production, voice, and swallowing ability. Improvement in these areas is of great benefit to both patient and family as they return to an improved independent or assisted living environment.
