Bayview Intergenerational Children's Center

Childrens Center

Bayview Manor Intergenerational

Our residents have chosen to share their home with the children of Bayview employees and neighbors.  The Center is located in the Terrace Building and offers a special climate of love, caring, laughter and learning for children.  From infants to preschoolers, children enjoy sharing time with the "Grandmas and Grandpas."  Many of the residents say the interaction with the children helps keep them young and brings out their playful and creative sides.

The goal of intergenerational childcare is for all ages to feel the support, concern, interest and caring of others; to increase meaningful and beneficial contact between the generations; to provide opportunities for elders to share language, culture and heritage, and to foster the idea that each generation is capable of solving problems uniquely.  This concept fosters positive attitudes toward age and integrated into the life of this Center.

We provide an inclusive, anti-bias early education program in an intergenerational setting that values diversity --regardless of race, gender, national origin, religion, special needs, sexual orientation, or marital status.

Bayview Intergenerational Children's Center is licensed by the State of Washington and regulated by City and State agencies.  Our hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 6:30am to 6:00pm.  We welcome all families
