Bayview Intergenerational Children's Center offers a unique opportunity for interaction between Bayview residents and children. Children participate in some planned activities with residents and also brighten the days simply by being part of our community. Curriculum that fosters positive attitudes toward age, disability, and the elderly is integrated into the life of the Center. From babies through preschoolers, children enjoy interacting with "grandmas and grandpas" throughout the community in both spontaneous and planned activities.

Our Children's Center was designed by an architect to be child-centered and child-sized, from bathroom fixtures to classroom shelves. We have a spacious indoor playground and a secure outdoor playground with climbing equipment. Our approach to early childhood education employs an interconnected web of educational practices anchored by our understanding of children as curious, eager to explore, competent and resourceful, and full of wonder. Teachers serve as facilitators, coaches, scribes and prop masters. The Bayview Children's Center serves 42 children from three months to five years of age. Our hours are from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Tours of the Center can be arranged by calling (206) 281-5786.
